Instructors



Master artist Kerry Roy began TaeKwonDo training in 1983 in Gretna, La with his instructor, GrandMaster Art Monroe.  Roy acquired Black Belt in 1985, and became a certified Instructor in 1987.
Mr. Roy opened TaeKwonDo Plus in 1995 in the Carrollwood community in Tampa. 
Roy also teaches Tactical Short Stick, a practical and field-expediant method of using a stick, or stick-like object for self-defense... also trained in JuJuitsu, Joe Lewis Kickboxing, Brazillian Grappling and Cane Masters.

Kerry continues to train regularly in TaeKwonDo as well as Kickboxing twice a week with friend and Kickboxing Mentor 6th degree Black Belt Mike Allen with Joe Lewis Fighting Systems.

In addition to teaching TaeKwonDo, Mr. Roy is a Tactical Master Instructor in CDT non-deadly force training.  CDT is a liability-conscience personal protection method taught to people from all walks of life including Professionals, Students, Law Enforcement personell and Security professionals.

Mr. Roy acquired other certifications from the Tom Patire Group including:  LRT (last resort tactics) and he teaches Weapon Disarm courses, and Tactical Control.  Master Roy also has Executive Protection Specialist training which includes:  Advance Work, CDT Non-Deadly Force Tactics, Close Quarter Protection, Tactical Handgun, Threat Management, Principles of Protection, Basic and Advanced Formations, Bomb Threat and Management, Executive Protocol, and Medical Emergency First Responder.  All from the Tom Patire Group.  www.TomPatire.com

Mr. Elliott Wert, 2nd degree Black Belt. 
Mr. Wert is an 12 year old Assistant Instructor that has always been very dedicated to his education and training.  He demonstrates persistance and dedicaton and commitment to his goals, which empowers other youngsters his age to feel they can do the same.




Mr. Brad Mierau, 3rd degree black belt, Certified Instructor. 

Chief Technical Officer for Bulova Tech Labs, a subsidiary of Bulova Technology Group.

 Ph.D. in chemical engineering and a M.S. in microbiology.

Taught in college level chemistry, microbiology, and chemical process engineering courses.  Mr. Mierau is thorough in his teachings and research and is very detail oriented;  he makes certain our TKD students are as well. 



Young Ryan Schiltz, 1st degree black belt and Instructor Trainee.  Ryan has taken a leadership role and helps lower-rank young students with their basic techniques and forms as well as kicking and one-steps.


Mr. Randy Golomb, 3rd degree black belt, Certified Instructor. 
Undergraduate degrees in education and psychology and a Master's Degree in education from USF.  
A
Hillsborough County teacher for 18 years.  
Currently teaches in the Hospital-Homebound program seeing students from 3-22 years old with varying  physical, psychological or any other medical situation which keep them from currently attending their local school. 
Mr. Golomb also has bodybuilding experience and conveys the importance of physical conditioning in our classes.






6th Degree TaeKwonDo Master Mike Pugh
is an established attorney in Sarasota and commutes twice a week to train and teach here at our TaeKwonDo academy with Master Kerry Roy.

Master Pugh travels often and consults with many TaeKwonDo instructors across the country.
